About the event


In this hackathon, participants will be challenged in a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition to obtain and apply some basic security skills to solve different challenges related to the security aspects of IoT-based applications. The aim is to present some of the main cybersecurity aspects to support the development of more secure IoT-based applications. It will cover aspects related to cryptography, penetration testing, web exploitation and forensics.

Time Activity
9:00 - 10:30 Security concepts in IoT-based applications (prepare for CTF challenge)
10:30 – 18:00 CTF challenge – The teams need to solve challenges to collect flags and gain points. The team that achieves the highest score within the limited time of the CTF wins.

The hackathon is aimed at undergraduate students in the area of
Computer Science and cybersecurity enthusiasts.

Requirements


  • Basic knowledge of linux commands and programming skills.
  • One to four participants per team.
  • Participants should come to the hackathon with a PC or VirtualMachine running Kali Linux or another distribution with cybersecurity-related tools.

The hackathon will take place in Edificio Multiusos I+D+i (Universidad de Salamanca, Spain)
