The DISRUPTIVE project, as part of its training activities, is organising the course "Fundamentals of Supervised Machine Learning". The course will be held in blended mode and in Spanish, with two face-to-face sessions and a part of autonomous work of the students, up to a maximum of 10 assistants.
The course will be open to everyone and will provide knowledge on the introduction to machine learning, generalisation theory, regularisation and validation techniques, linear and non-linear models, neural networks, support vector machines (SVM) and decision trees.
This training will be given by Dr. Ignacio de Miguel y Dr. Ramón J. Durán Barroso, , both Full Professors at the University of Valladolid (UVA).
The registration period will be open from 15/07/2022, at 14:00 hours, until full capacity is reached and will be done through the following form.
The course has a duration of 30 hours, which will be distributed as follows:
- 10 face-to-face hours distributed in 2 sessions: 18 and 19 July 2022 from 9:00 to 14:00 at the ETSI of Telecommunications of the University of Valladolid.
- 20 hours of independent work. The delivery of the exercises will be on 12 September 2022.
The event has the following requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Python programming and mathematics at first year level of engineering, science or economics/business degrees.
- Have a computer equipment to follow the course (preferably a laptop to take it to the classroom sessions).
- Installation of the ANACONDA software (https://www.anaconda.com). Anaconda is a distribution of the Python programming language for data science, machine learning, large-scale data processing, etc., which aims to simplify the management and deployment of packages.
